Impact of Feminist Theater on Atlanta Community Building
A lot of my desire to build community and be involved in social issues was inspired by worldly influence, not just learning theater exclusively

Feminist theater not only brought together actors of different sexualities, religions, and ethnicities, it also provided a space for local women to flourish as they supported and enjoyed creative endeavors.
The collections at GSU highlight community building within the feminist theater space in Atlanta. Theater groups often performed plays and comedic skits to raise funds for community organizations that focused on social justice and equality. Those organizations and business owners would also collaborate with feminist theater groups to ensure they had the funds to perform.
We felt the need to do something together and support ideas for women through comedy.
