Spirituality

In 2011, the first donation to the new Gender and Sexuality Collections was the Franklin Abbott Papers. Abbott was one of the original Radical Faeries and a founding member of Gay Spirit Visions. It is not surprising that gay spirituality became one of the areas of interest for the collections. Over time, the Radical Faeries have been more fully represented with an almost-complete run of the Radical Faerie Digest (RFD), and materials created for Big Joy – a documentary about poet and Faerie James Broughton, directed by Stephen Silha. Gay Spirit Visions has donated its organizational records, and it’s newsletter the Visionary, has been digitized and is available via the GSU Library’s Digital CollectionsOral histories have been conducted with many members of GSV, and papers of individual members of have also been donated, including those of Cal Gough and Bob Strain.
